40 years on, Montchavin-Les Coches is well-known for its charming disposition on the edges of alpine forest, for its cobbled streets and attractive wooden, stone and slate chalets. To top it all, in 2003 it was decided that Montchavin would have the honour of becoming one of the gateways to the Paradiski Area and today it is the home of the great Vanoise Express cable car.
